Discharge Certificate: shows that Daniel Morgan Taylor, was enlisted by Captain B. F. Wiles of the 70th Regiment at Camp Helmer?, OH on the 5th day of December 1861 to serve 3 years. Born Adams Co. OH, is 43 years of age, 5'11" tall, dark complexion, dark eyes and black hair.

Was a farmer. Wounded in the Battle of Shilo. Lost the 2nd finger on the right hand. Discharged 30 of January 1863. Place where soldier intends to reside: Blue Creek, OH

Widows Declaration For Pension: 23 August 1882 by Nancy Ann Taylor, age 31, widow of Daniel Morgan Taylor; gives date and place of death; her maiden name, the date of their marriage by Henry Scott; that Daniel had been previously married and the list of children from the second marriage that were under the age of 16 at the time of their father's death. Appoints John Shelton of Bradysville OH as her attorney.

Filed by Clarissa Taylor, age 53, gives date & place of death; and information on Former wife's death; information on the marriage of Clarissa and James; the only child under 16 at the time of his death was Junia, b 6 June 1897.

11 Sept 1916 - Affidavit of Clarissa Taylor, age 56, giving again, date of her marriage to James H. Taylor, the date of his death, Giving Pension File #1012958 for her former claim and #294666 as her husband's Pension File #. John K. Dunbar appointed Attorney.

DEATH CERTIFICATE: for James H. Taylor, Filed in Adams Co. OH, Registration District #4, File # 25800; in the Village of Manchester; Primary Registration District #2001; Registered No. 32.; says b 29 July 1847; d 04 May 1913; at Age 67 years 9 months and 5 days. Lists name of father as Morgan Taylor b Ohio and mother as Mary Copas b Ohio. It shows that burial took place on 6 May 1913 with B. F. Nelson of Manchester as the undertaker. The certificate was signed 5 May 1913. NOTE: Graves Registration says burial on 7 May 1913.

OBITUARY: Newspaper - People's Defender: 8 May 1913: James Taylor, age 68 years, died at his home on Front Street in Manchester. Married twice, 1) Mary Jones, deceased, to them was born 4 children, Susan, Herbert, William, Ida; the latter two deceased.

He married 2nd to Clarissa Floyd. To them were born 3 children, Mrs. L. D. Parker of Oyen, Alberta, Canada, Herschell and Junia at home. Buried at Moore's Chapel.
